Do you have big plans for the weekend? If not anyone and everyone should think about going to see Carl Sandburg College Theatre’s “Stroke of Midnight”. The first showing is tonight at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre located in Building F on the Main Campus in Galesburg. Other showings include Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m.“Stroke of Midnight” is an original play written by theater scholarship students; Erica Baumgardner, Aaron Donnelly, Jonathan Reyes, all of Galesburg, and Mark Thomas of Maquon. It is also directed by our theatre instructor at Sandburg, Ms. Susan Sharp.
The play consists of a storyline featuring a painter whose paintings come to life at the stroke of midnight! The playwrights will also act in the performance. Other cast members include Ryan Osborn, Bushnell, and Riley Franzen, Galesburg. Mark Thomas came up with the storyline for the play and the other students supported developing his concept of a painter whose creations come to life at night.
By being a part of the Drama Club, I will be helping out during the production. As my contribution I was a part of baking goods to sell before the play begins and I will also be selling tickets at the door. Be sure to come and support your fellow students as they perform their own written creation!
Sincerely,
Rachel
