Students, did you know the College is sponsoring an award for staff excellence? Carl Sandburg College needs your help in nominating employees. If you can think of anyone in mid-management, technical, custodial, dinning, clerical, or physical plant personnel that deserves to be recognized and applauded for an award of excellence, fill out a form and deposit it in one of the boxes. There are locations at each campus with nomination forms and deposit boxes.
All the time you hear of teachers or students receiving awards for good behavior or achievements in studies. Don’t get me wrong – this is amazing accomplishment, but you rarely hear gratitude expressed over clean bathrooms, well-cooked meals or parking lots that have been shoveled, cleaned, and ice that has been cleared when snow hits. This is our chance as students to show our thanks and support to those who rarely hear it.
Nominations, placement boxes, and forms are available and located at the information desks in buildings B and D, and in the Library. Just a heads up… if you’re going to nominate someone, you must write a very short explanation of why this specific person should be awarded with Staff Member of the Year. The reason is very important, so please complete this!
Nominations are due on Monday, Nov. 21.
